Warts are a skin condition caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). This virus infects the cells of our skin and increases their proliferation, thus creating the warts, better known as warts.

Types

Today, more than 70 types of HPV have been identified. Warts are a benign type of HPV infection. They occur mainly in children but also in adults. {Slider

They are transmitted in various ways.

The virus is present even in the superficial cells of the lesion and, therefore, makes their contagion easier.

For example, it is transmitted by pressing someone barefoot on skin scales from a patient who has warts on their sole.

Children shaking hands and touching during play are a means of contagion.

Common warts appear on the extremities, mainly on the soles of the feet, palms, fingers and body, knees, and elbows.

There is also the category of normal warts that are found on the face and on the dorsal surface of the upper limbs.

Paronychial lesions in children are a common phenomenon.

They often appear as a subungual lesion, and they can lift the nail.

If the warts are smooth, the use of a topical salicylic acid preparation is indicated.

Tretinoin or benzoyl peroxide may also be used which selectively irritate the wart.

However, treatment with these preparations can take several months.

Usually, common warts are treated with liquid nitrogen that freezes the damage, causing it to "die" and fall off, with LASER the same thing happens, but with heat, as well as various caustic mixtures prescribed by the dermatologist.

This treatment is performed in the dermatological clinic with a frequency of every 1-3 weeks and within 3 months the complete healing of the warts occurs.

Of course, the recovery time depends on the immune response of each patient individually.
